Job Overview
UD Trucks is known for our pioneering technologies and products within the commercial automotive industry. This function reside in the Special Vehicle Development (SVD) division in UD Trucks
Southern Africa. This function reside in the Special Vehicle Development (SVD) division in UD Trucks Southern Africa.

SVD is a technology function responsible for:

The successful development/release/integration of components/component systems
for both CKD and local components
Internal technical support provided to the production assembly process as well as to the sales/aftermarket functions
External technical support provided to the market dealers/ bodybuilders/ customers
Quality function support both internally and externally. This involve the investigation of quality concerns raised through the international quality team as well as those raised by the local production/sales/aftermarket teams. To reduce the total cost of nonquality

Responsibilities and Duties

Provide technical and/or handson assistance as required for SVD daytoday activities
Collect failed components/samples from dealer
Inspect/test failed components as required
Coordinate with external test laboratories/test houses
Influence to use correct test methods, tools
Publish timely TMA test reports and escalate roadblocks
Collaborate with PQE/ RE / WSL / PQL / SV / QW / WH / Dealer / UDTO / external test Labs
Work with AMA parts coordinator to ship parts to supplier location or DC BLR
Ensure tools are calibrated at frequent intervals

Minimum qualifications

National Diploma/ Higher Diploma in Mechanical engineering or BSC
Mechanical/Automotive engineering / Electronics / electrical / Mechatronics
Driving license B/EB
