Boilermaker Position in Iron Making Stock House Maintenance Blast Furnace

The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving the condition of plant and equipment, ensuring quality standards compliance, and conducting inspections.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fault Finding and Rectification: Identify and rectify defects and plant problems promptly to ensure minimal downtime and optimize production.
• Safety, Health, Environment, Quality (SHERQ) Duties: Perform SHERQ duties according to regulations and standards to maintain a safe working environment.
• Standby Roster: Do standby as per plant schedule roster to ensure prompt response to plant emergencies.
• Design and Welding Tasks: Perform design and welding tasks according to specifications and drawings to manufacture and install structures and equipment.
• Maintenance and Repairs: Inspect and maintain structures on an ad hoc basis, repair and upgrade damaged structures, and perform basic rigging tasks to ensure optimal plant performance.
• Quality Standards Compliance: Ensure quality standard compliance of first-line maintenance to meet production requirements.
• Plant Ownership: Take ownership of the plant to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
• Inspections and Registers: Conduct inspections and complete Safety Inspection registers to track and analyze plant performance.

Requirements:

A Gr.12/ N3/ NCV3 (NQF 4/10) certificate and a Single Artisan or Product Trade qualification are required for this position.
