Description

Our client, a food manufacturing company based in the UK, is looking for a Procurement / Purchasing Manager to join their administrative team in South Africa (working remotely from home).

They have recently introduced their own range of frozen products, which has quickly expanded to supply over 200 food service establishments across the UK.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage supplier relationships and ingredient contracts
Identify and onboard new suppliers as necessary
Source new and innovative ingredients for product development
Handle forecasting and procurement of ingredients based on client and sales team predictions
Oversee local and international supply chains including purchasing, forecasting, shipping, and delivery
Conduct monthly stock takes and report to the Accounts department
Manage alcohol duties and government rebate calculations
Oversee EU and International exports of finished goods
Administer ERP system including product coding, supplier setup, and pricing
Control product costings, structures, recipes, and updates
Maintain updated product specifications for all ingredients
Coordinate supplier audits
Work closely with all departments, particularly goods in/out and warehouse teams

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum qualifications: BCom degree in Procurement / Supply Chain / Similar field
3 - 5 years of procurement experience
Prior experience in the FMCG sector is a must
Strong sourcing background
Skills in negotiations and networking
Knowledge in scheduling, forecasting, procurement, and planning
Experience in managing end-of-life cycle and inventory
Effective communication skills
Interpersonal and relationship-building abilities
Analytical and reporting skills
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
Financial acumen and data analysis capabilities
Excellent decision-making and planning skills
Negotiation expertise
Proficient in risk analysis and management
Problem-solving capabilities
Deadline-oriented

WORK HOURS

42 hours per week

LOCATION

Remote position, with on-site stock take at the UK company every two months (covered by the company)

SALARY

Negotiable based on experience
