Description

You will be accountable for minimizing financial risks related to (potential) legal offences such as claims for liability, fines and other sanctions as well as detrimental impact on BMW AGs stock prices at the capital markets.


  • You will be responsible for safeguarding of worldwide top positions of BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce in terms of brand value by implementing an effective local compliance management system that avoids reputational damages and promotes further grows of BMW Groups brand values.
  • You will be accountable for the empowerment of BMW Groups growth strategy in emerging markets with typically weak compliance culture (e.g. BRICS states) by defining local compliance strategies (complementing Group compliance strategy), which recognize such country specific and / or business model specific compliance risks and define appropriate and effective compliance instruments and measures.
  • You will oversee the detection of compliance violations and comprehensive investigation of the underlying facts create the basis for obtaining substantial benefits in leniency programs, if applicable.
  • You will provide the basis for a defense strategy for the BMW Group, local executive management and the BMW AG Management Board in the event of noncompliance. I.e. an effective compliance management system helps preventing corporate and personal liability and sanctions with regards to the aforementioned stakeholders.
  • You will be responsible for advising and training of employees, business departments and management in compliance matters.
  • You will be responsible for regular provision of information on compliance management activities, compliance risks and defaults to local executive management respectively the relevant BMW AG board member and the Group Governance Functions.
  • You will monitor the local compliance measures as a reaction on earlier compliance violations.
  • You will be responsible for consulting local HR department with regards to disciplinary measures towards BMW Group employees in cases of personal misconduct. You will advice respective HR functions on sanctions towards BMW group associates who have committed legal offenses.
  • You will deal with eDiscoveries and interacting with judicial, administrative or supervisory authorities in regulatory matters, together with the responsible local legal department. You will be accountable for escalating to Group Governance Functions in case of target conflicts / risks / defaults, which cannot be adequately addressed on a local level.
  • You will have close liaising with other companies with regards to best practices in compliance management. You will have active involvement and shaping of local industry specific developments in compliance management.

Qualifications:


  • University degree, preferably in the areas of economics, engineering or law.
  • 1 to 3 years of professional experience
  • Good understanding of structures and business processes within BMW Group NSCs, and production facilities.
  • Excellent networking, within BMW Group (locally and towards headquarters) as well as with local external parties (compliance community).
  • Professional experiences or certificates in the areas of compliance, data protection and/ or information protection.
  • Very good command of English language, spoken and written.
  • Fundamental process and IT know how.
  • High degree of own initiative, endurance and consistency combined with integrative capabilities.
  • Distinctive analytical skills.
  • Very good and convincing communication and presentation skills and ability to tailor these activities for different target groups.
  • Experiences and sensibility in dealing with other cultures.
