    Description

    Product Design Lead Role - 12 Month Contract

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with business stakeholders to clarify needs and requirements, and work with the Head of Product Design to establish a clear project scope, creative brief, and plan.
    • Manage daily design output delivery against the project plan, ensuring high-quality results at each stage by continuously evaluating design quality and customer experience.
    • Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to ensure the project aligns with their needs and requirements.
    • Take ownership of customer experience within the project, challenging business and technical decisions to deliver the best possible experience for customers.
    • Lead the project team by aligning, managing, and coaching designers, prototype engineers, copywriters, and other team members to achieve outstanding outcomes while maintaining a unified end product.
    • Foster relationships across teams and disciplines to promote collaboration and efficiency.
    • Seek ways to measure the impact of design on customers and the business, and report insights to senior management and business stakeholders.

    Accountability: High-Quality Design

    • Develop innovative and high-quality design solutions to create a world-class customer experience across projects.
    • Contribute significantly to design within the project, providing thought leadership to the overall team and business.
    • Apply design thinking and best practice standards in developing design options and narrowing down the final solution.
    • Use insight and data (e.g., market analysis, customer feedback, and user research analytics) to design products/services/solutions around the customer and deliver improved experiences.
    • Create design scenarios, mock-ups, and prototypes as necessary for each project stage, iterating to achieve optimal output.
    • Align design with design standards and brand guidelines to ensure consistency across the ecosystem.

    Accountability: Building Capabilities

    • Coach and mentor designers within the project team and the broader design team.
    • Foster a collaborative team environment where designers feel engaged and motivated.
    • Continuously build expertise by seeking feedback, following external trends, and incorporating best practices.
    • Contribute to team knowledge building by sharing insights and success stories, and providing feedback and ideas across different design projects.
