    Description

    Engineering Manager

    The Engineering Manager is responsible for developing and implementing company engineering policies and standards, as well as providing specialist engineering knowledge to support organizational growth. Key objectives include implementing a standardized asset lifecycle management approach and maintenance management system across the organization.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Develop strategies to improve quality of engineering service, performance, and operational efficiency within the unit.
    • Promote optimal asset care through establishing systems for continuous improvement in maintenance applicable to plant and services.
    • Approve engineering designs and specifications to meet compliance with engineering principles, standards, statutes, codes, regulations, and design requirements.
    • Define policies and procedures related to engineering principles, standards, codes, and design needs; conduct inspections and audits to ensure adherence to established protocols.
    • Create clear, concise, and organized documents and reports addressing novel or complex engineering concepts and facts.
    • Develop and refine standards, rules, and legislation.
    • Provide expert consultation on engineering standards involving complex or broad scope work projects or programs.
    • Contribute to the development of long-range engineering and project management strategic goals.
    • Foster standardization of spare parts management and maintenance planning.
    • Collaborate with manufacturing leadership to develop and align KPI frameworks, review and monitor monthly performance against set standards, and provide input for management review.
    • Work with Capex project management teams to establish technical specifications for new plant and machinery purchases.

    • Machine uptime percentage (breakdown hours per day)
    • Maintenance cost per standard unit of production
    • Maintenance consumable cost
    • Maintenance cost savings (% achieved versus target)

    Desired Experience & Qualifications

    • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in FMCG with expertise in maintenance management and project management.
    • GRM2 certification required.
