    Job Title: Automotive Technician

    Duties:

    • Preparation and Ordering of Parts: Establish the necessary parts required for service or repairs and ensure that the correct parts are ordered.
    • Reporting Additional Work: Report to the foreman promptly on any additional work required.
    • Authorization and Technical Information: Obtain authorization prior to carrying out additional work and obtain technical information from the foreman on problem jobs.
    • Adherence to Specifications: Adhere strictly to the technical specifications laid down by the OEM and perform duties according to manufacturers standards.
    • Maintenance and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, keep records of all work performed, and adhere to group workshop policies and procedures.
    • Inventory Management: Ensure that all old parts are placed in a plastic bag in the boot of the car, except in the case of warranty work where old parts must be tagged and returned to the control tower.
    • Clocking and Record-Keeping: Ensure that time recording is done correctly and as soon as possible after work is completed.
    • Equipment Maintenance: Report any faulty and/or broken equipment to the foreman and use special tools and equipment with utmost care.
    • Hand Tool Maintenance: Possess a complete set of own hand tools as per M.I.F. list and maintain them in good working condition.
    • Training and Mentorship: Accept responsibility for apprentices/learners and impact through explanation and practice, the necessary skills required to perform the job correctly.
    • Personal Conduct: Maintain a neat appearance and a cordial relationship with workshop staff.
    • Customer Property: No private property in customers vehicles must be removed, and any components, parts, accessories and/or assemblies removed from customers vehicles must be kept together, stored safely, and recorded for easy recognition of ownership, repair, replacement and/or correct re-assembly on the specific vehicle.

    Requirements:

    • Experience: Previous experience as an automotive technician, preferably with VW, Honda, Mazda, Haval, Chery, Toyota, Suzuki.
    • Certifications: Motor Mechanic Trade Test Certificate Red Seal.
    • Computer Literacy: PC literate.
    • Driver's License: Valid Driver's License.
    • Criminal Record: Clear Criminal record.
    • Work Track Record: Stable work track record.
    • Performance Under Pressure: Ability to work well under pressure and be target drive.

    Estimated Salary:

    $60,000 - $80,000 per year
