    Job Description

    Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) Compliance Representative

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act and relevant SHEQ laws
    • Manage and maintain the SHE Management System/Processes
    • Ensure completion of annual statutory SHE training for all staff
    • Conduct SHE Induction for new employees and refresher training for existing staff
    • Provide monthly SHE statistics reports to compliance manager
    • Assist in compiling SHE files, assessing compliance, conducting field activity audits, and leading incident investigations as necessary
    • Review and maintain SHE policies and procedures alongside compliance officer
    • Implement, coordinate, and conduct First Party SHE Risk Theme Audits
    • Assist in planning and coordinating the External SHE System Certification Audit
    • Plan, implement, and coordinate the Internal SHE System Audit Program
    • Plan, implement, and assist in the execution of operational SHE Internal Legal Compliance Assessments
    • Plan and implement an Annual Operational Assurance Program
    • Plan and implement an operational audit schedule on critical areas to ensure the elimination of Fatal Incidents, Major Potential Incidents, and High Potential Incidents (AFRS, Risk Assurance, technical reviews)
    • Implement the required SHE Risk & Assurance system procedures, systems, and standards
    • Audit on a Quarterly Basis the close-out and effectiveness of implementation of actions that arise from operational incident investigations, risk assessments, and audit reports
    • Provide risk-based operational input to operations SHE plan to ensure key focus areas address Major Risks, Audit Results, and Learning from Incidents
    • Assist in implementing, planning rollout of the ISO 9001 accreditation process
    • Any ad-hoc responsibilities

    Requirements

    Qualifications:

    • MATRIC CERTIFICATE
    • National Diploma in either Safety, Occupational Health & Environment or Higher / Accredited SAMTRAC Certification

    Skills and Knowledge:

    • Knowledge and application of SHEQ practices, procedures, and policies
    • Proficiency in computer literacy and administration
    • Strong communication skills and attention to detail

    Experience:

    • 2-3 years of SHEQ experience in a chemical environment
    • Experience assisting in the implementation of ISO 9001 accreditation process is a big advantage
