Job Advert Summary:


To monitor, analyse and report on the implementation and outcomes/results of the Bank's strategy with particular emphasis on the impact of the Bank's development strategy.

Contribute content for the Corporate Plan, Integrated report and other mandatory/regulatory reporting requirements


Minimum Requirements:

Preferred Minimum Education and Experience

B Degree in Commerce, Finance or Business related field or environmental risk and management

Industry relevant training, for example courses in:

  • Monitoring and Evaluation;
Corporate Strategy;
Integrated Reporting

Agriculture or environmental management

Developing and refining data collection tools

Conducting and managing surveys

Designing and conducting training

5 years experience in the monitoring and evaluation space preferably within a Development Finance Intuition of similar;
5 years experience in the corporate strategy planning and reporting environment; or

5 years experience in statistical analysis software like SPSS and visualisation tools like Tableau and Power BI

Duties and Responsibilities:

Key Performance Areas


  • Design, coordinate and implement a monitoring and evaluation framework to enable company to report on the outcomes/results of the Bank's strategy, in particular its development impact
Develop an overall framework for monitoring and evaluation for company to report on the outcomes/results of the Bank's strategy and its development impact at various levels in the organisation

Align monitoring and evaluation activities with the organisation's overarching strategic initiatives

Engage with divisional heads to assimilate monitoring and evaluation activities into divisional plans

Examine and interpret data sets to formulate strategic advisories for the divisional heads

Pioneer the creation and roll-out of data collection instruments, methodologies, and standards

Serve as the primary liaison for monitoring and evaluation activities, interfacing with internal, and external stakeholders

Convey data findings and strategic insights to stakeholders, ensuring clarity and cogency

Pursue continual professional development opportunities to remain updated with current monitoring and evaluation trends and best practices

Review the quality of existing data, the methods of collecting it and the degree to which it can be used as a baseline for the Bank's strategy and its development impact reporting

Develop baseline data whenever an indicator is identified for strategy and development reporting

Review the existing approaches and management of information internal and external to the organisation and agree changes, support and resources with relevant parties to enable reporting

Identify training needs, organise and undertake training on monitoring and evaluation as required

Collect data on a regular basis to achieve measurement against the performance indicators

Analyse data, aggregate findings and produce regular reports on progress

Identify lessons learned, develop case studies and produce documentation to capture and communicate qualitative findings on performance

Identify indicators to be developed and reported in terms of strategy and development impact assessment


  • Support corporate reporting framework by providing content for the Integrated Report, Corporate Plan and other mandatory/regulatory reports
As part of the Strategy team, identifies content requirements for Integrated Report, Corporate Plan and other relevant corporate reports related to the Bank's strategy and development impact

Identify additional indicators and data to be collected in monitoring and evaluation framework to support corporate reporting process

Writes relevant content for reports at a standard suitable for external publication

Supports General Manager:
Corporate Strategy and Innovation to collate content and document case studies as required


  • Provide Input and Support in other Product Development Projects
Based on results of monitoring and evaluation activities, identify opportunities to develop new or refine existing financial products for clients

Provide input to product development specialist and support process to develop relevant products with the necessary information from the monitoring and evaluation outputs

Ensure new indicators are identified and incorporated in the monitoring and development framework when new or refined financial products are launched

Incorporate product related reporting in monitoring and evaluation framework

Ensure that post-implementation monitoring and evaluation occurs on a regular basis (at least quarterly) and resolve any product related issues identified during the post-implementation phase
