- Contributing to the success of clinical trials (phase I-IV) by facilitating scientific discussions during site selection and initiation visits, conducting unscheduled visits, ensuring KOL participation in trials, and involving key investigators in result discussions.
- Providing timely medical advice and internal training through content development and training sessions for clinical staff.
- Engaging in thorough scientific communication both internally and externally, emphasizing proactive and clear communication skills. Effective presentation abilities are essential.
- Medical Degree / Bachelor of Medicine or PhD in health sciences, or Pharmacist with advanced qualification.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in clinical or pharmaceutical sectors (may include a blend of medical and clinical fields). Background in clinical research is advantageous.
- Prior experience in an international pharmaceutical company or Contract Research Organization (CRO) is mandatory.
- Sound knowledge of pharmaceutical development processes and practical experience as a clinical trial investigator or sub-investigator is preferred.
- Subject matter expert in the relevant therapeutic area, ideally with publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Understanding of local healthcare infrastructure intricacies.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.

The Position
As a Clinical Medical Manager, you will oversee the implementation of clinical trials in New Therapy Areas (such as Cardiovascular Disease (CVD), Nephrology, Hepatology, and Alzheimer's disease) by offering medical and scientific guidance based on interactions with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), professional associations, and patient advocacy groups when needed. This role involves extensive travel across South Africa, constituting a minimum of 80% of your work time.

This is a brand-new team, situated between our Clinical and Medical departments, focusing on building relationships with specialists in various therapeutic areas. The roles are primarily field-based, covering locations across South Africa, with a preference for Johannesburg-based individuals for easy access to our office. The team will work closely with the clinical trials and medical units. We are seeking to hire 4 Clinical Medical Managers and a Head of Clinical Medical Managers to lead this team.
