    Proudly South African FMCG group requires the expertise of a Senior Quality Manager focused on Food Safety to oversee all aspects of Quality Management across their factories and Distribution Centres. This is a senior-level role within the organization and reports to the Chief Operating Officer and General Managers. The company has a strong staff tenure, with recent expansion resulting in a growing team.

    Responsibilities

    • Ensure that all requirements for FSSC 22000 and other relevant Food Safety Management Systems are met.
    • Collaborate closely with Quality Managers on audits and ensure effective implementation.
    • Oversee Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies to guarantee consistency across the organization.
    • Maintain alignment between the Quality Department and stakeholders through open communication and coordination.
    • Participate in Production and Operations meetings to address key issues and drive improvements.
    • Have the opportunity to visit sites across South Africa every month to foster a sense of community and ensure consistency in operations.

    Requirements

    • Degree in Microbiology, Food Sciences, or a related field.
    • 5-10 years of experience in senior quality control roles, preferably in the food manufacturing or production environment (FMCG).
    • 3-5 years of management experience overseeing staff and operations, with a focus on food safety systems and audits.
    • Expertise in food safety systems and audits, including knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards.
    • Strong business acumen and ability to engage effectively in a team environment.
    • An independent and people-centric individual who can motivate and lead a team to achieve excellence in food safety.
