General Manager (Non-Profit Company/Hospitality)

ABOUT:

A registered non-profit company established to create safe and inclusive spaces in which people and groups can come together to build more equitable cities and countries.

The company manages two spaces that enable users to work, network, meet, build collaborative communities, find opportunities for connection and learning, and to amplify their work and campaigns.

One site is in Cape Town and includes space for events, meetings, and coworking - as well as a cinema, coffee shop and restaurant.

The other is located on a wine farm 45 minutes outside Cape Town and includes accommodation for 34 people, conferencing facilities, meeting rooms, a micro-farming and food production project, and a community resource centre.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Development and Oversight of Shared Systems, Policies, & Procedures
Responsible For Overseeing & Managing All Company Divisions & Operations
Oversight of Company Finances & Related System
Reporting, Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) & Communications
Oversee Governance Structures and Compliance

EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum of 10 years' experience in a senior management and operations role in the hospitality sector required.
Advanced degree in business management, operations, finance or related field.
Experience in developing and implementing revenue generation strategies.
Experience working in valuesdriven nonprofit organizations preferable.
Proven record of excellent leadership, collaboration, & project management skills.
Experience in budget monitoring and accounting practices.
Commitment to exceptional customer service with a passion for the hospitality and events industry.
Proven experience working with diverse stakeholders.
Experienced in using IT systems on various platforms including Point of Sale (POS) and hospitality Project Management Software (PMS) e.g., Semper.
Strong communication skills (spoken English & another language preferable).
Will need to be based in the Winelands with regular visits to the Cape Town site.
