Description

As a Spare Parts Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the spare parts warehouse, ensuring efficient operations, accurate forecasting, and seamless coordination of spare parts procurement, planning, and shipping.

The role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of logistics, spare parts procurement processes, and a proactive approach to maintaining optimal inventory levels.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Spare Parts Warehouse Management:
  • Efficiently manage the spare parts warehouse, ensuring proper organization, cleanliness, and adherence to safety standards.
  • Oversee the receiving, storage, and dispatching of spare parts in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Implement and maintain an effective inventory control system to prevent stockouts and overstock situations.
  • Forecasting and Planning:
  • Conduct regular analysis of historical data, market trends, and product life cycles to accurately forecast spare parts demand.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to gather information on product launches, promotions, and changes in product offerings to enhance forecasting accuracy.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for spare parts procurement and inventory management based on accurate forecasting.

Spare Parts Procurement:


  • Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms, including pricing, lead times, and payment terms.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to quality, delivery delays, or other concerns.
  • Continuously evaluate and identify potential new suppliers to ensure a diversified and reliable supply chain.
  • Logistics and Shipping:
  • Coordinate with logistics partners to optimize shipping routes and reduce lead times.
  • Ensure compliance with customs regulations and documentation requirements for international shipments.
  • Implement costeffective shipping strategies without compromising on the quality and timeliness of spare parts deliveries.

Collaboration and Communication:


  • Foster effective communication and collaboration with internal departments, including production, sales, and customer service, to ensure alignment of spare parts availability with overall business goals.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on spare parts inventory levels, procurement status, and key performance indicators to relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications and Skills:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in spare parts management, logistics, and procurement, preferably in the consumer electronics or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to interpret data and trends.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with international shipping regulations and customs procedures.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a crossfunctional team environment.

Salary:
R30, R50,000.00 per month


Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Johannesburg, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)
