Finance Director Manufacturing

Pietermaritzburg - Kwa Zulu Natal - South Africa

Reporting to Managing Director you will be required to manage and direct all company finances. Responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, overseeing accounts and budgets, and making strategic financial decisions that will promote long-term financial gain. You must have extensive experience in the manufacturing sector with a strong financial vision and insight to match.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Finance, Accounting, or related field e.g. CA, CIMA or BCOM
  • Member of a recognised professional accounting body in good standing
  • 10+ years' experience in a senior finance position
  • Multinational experience with international GAAP expertise.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Pastel payroll and other business software e.g. BAAN
  • Extremely knowledgeable in financial forecasting, accounting principles, and taxation
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the propensity to successfully foster new and maintain longstanding business relationships
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and delegate responsibilities in an effective and efficient manner
  • Outstanding integrity, solid moral judgment, and the ability to make important decisions under pressure
  • Expert problem solver, analytical thinker, and decisionmaker
  • Possess strong leadership skills, business acumen and entrepreneurial thinking skills

Responsibilities:


  • Direct and monitor all financial activities of the organization
  • Manage company cash flow
  • Outline and implement companywide budget plans
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and annual company financial statements
  • Oversee all accounting work and set up internal and external audits
  • Provide strategic financial planning advice to upper management for longterm growth
  • Analyze and interpret financial data and provide insightful monthly financial reports
  • Manage the finance department, training any new employees as necessary
  • Ensure Human Resources salary and wage statutory compliance.
  • Have a clear understanding of and adhere to current laws and regulations
  • Assessing, managing and minimizing risk
  • Attend to any tax requirements to ensure tax compliance
