Job Purpose

  • To manage operational processes efficiently by supporting the endtoend client life cycle; in line with Nedbank's client service strategy. To assume endtoend accountability for the strategic direction, sustainable performance, transformation and achievement of business objectives in line with Nedbank Group strategy and objectives by leveraging resources and collaborating with / influencing stakeholders in executing strategy.

Responsibilities:


  • Contribute to Nedbank being the most transformed Bank by enabling accelerated transformation and positioning of the Cluster.
  • Lead the creation of a innovative culture by championing innovation and continuous improvement in Nedbank Cluster.
  • Deliver on ROE by managing expenditure; cost to income ratio's and headline earning targets for the year.
  • Achieve targets by executing Cluster strategy.
  • Grow market share by leveraging Nedbank client value proposition; brand and relationships.
  • Drive achievement of Cluster strategic objectives by developing a strategic plan; framework and budget.
  • Optimise client experience and productivity by ensuring alignment and execution of strategic initiatives and projects.
  • Ensure sustainable business through alignment of business structures; systems; processes and people.
  • Ensure compliance; identification and mitigation of risk by adhering to the risk framework principles.
  • Build trusting relationships with direct reports and employees by being a values driven leader.
  • Represent Nedbank brand and enhance its reputation by deepening relationships with key external stakeholders.
  • Meet Nedbank standards of staff performance by managing the recruitment; development; training and performance management of staff.
  • Create a supportive learning environment by providing opportunities for growth; motivating; coaching and guiding staff.
  • Prepare a budget (including headcount and general operational expenses) for a Business Unit in line with the Divisional Strategy.
  • Attend business projects' meetings and provide the necessary advice and support to ensure financial success of those projects.
  • Provide advice to internal stakeholders on products and system enhancements by giving regular updates that are highlighted through Operational Processing.
  • Ensure synergies are enhanced through better group collaboration
  • Support the operationalisation of products and services needed, minimising organisational complexity and cost to serve through constant control and benchmarking.
  • Stay abreast of current rules and regulations and contribute to the crafting of procedures; standards; processes.
  • Ensure a goldstandard client experience by managing the execution obligations within the product portfolio.
  • Provide reporting to industry bodies in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Empower team to make decisions and recommend tailored solutions to business unit specific problems, through coaching and mentoring practices.


  • Essential Qualifications

  • NQF Level
  • Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
  • Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees


  • Preferred Qualification

  • Relevant businessrelated e.g. Finance, Accounting, Economics
  • Minimum Experience Level years + years experience in managing Finance and/or Operations in an Investment Bank with relevant technical market acumen, which includes a demonstrated track record of management of at least 5 years
