Description

  • The incumbent will provide financial management and support to Wits Sport and will enable the Head of Department to provide full financial accountability.
The incumbent is responsible for the management and control of income and expenditure of Wits Sport (council and sport clubs).

Key responsibilities include the following:
(a) Be accountable for overseeing financial processes, procedures and controls in an efficient, effective and professional manner in compliance with University policies and procedures.

(b) Be accountable to ensure that the recording of all revenue and costs against the correct accounts is effected.

(c) Be accountable for finalising reconciliations for all financial accounts.

(d) Prepare the required financial information to the Business Manager and Director of Sport to enable efficient financial management.

(e) Provide monthly management accounts that will facilitate the efficient management of the department.

(f) Responsible for providing financial training for financial staff and Wits Sport Administrators, where applicable.


Requirements:


  • BComm: Accounting
  • 5 years relevant experience at a university management level coupled with people management experience

  • Oracle and accounting experience in an academic environment
