Purpose:
To provide effective and efficient support services to employees of the Department through the provision of sound management and maintenance of facilities.
Key performance areas include:
Manage the services rendered by contractors:
Brief contractors on projects
Coordinate briefing sessions with contractors and ensure compliance with regard to legislation and procedures
Develop progress reports on projects and verify invoices for the work performed prior payments
Develop and maintain records of work undertaken
Building inspection:
Ensure that building inspections are carried out and update inspection checklist
Ensure help desk requests are allocated and attended to by maintenance officers
Monitor inspection conducted by maintenance officers
Escalate requests that would require outsourcing
Draft ToR and ensure that day to day maintenance requests are logged with the Department of Public Works
Allocation of office space:
Assist with the development and maintenance of an immovable asset register
Coordinate refurbishment of office space when the need arise
Attend to office space requests, identify space to be allocated and removal of furniture
Facilitate payments of service providers:
Coordinate the reports based on the delivered services/goods and facilitate the payments of the service provided in line with SLA/ToR
Maintain and submit monthly payment commitment register
Manage human resources:
Supply appropriate tools and protective clothing for use by subordinates
Ensure procurement of maintenance equipment/tool/ allocation register during repairs
Perform other admin duties as delegated by the supervisor, including administrative related to the job for effective performance of the Unit

Minimum qualifications and experience required:
National Diploma in electrical or plumbing / N3 electrical or plumbing with trade test
