East London Airport Manager Air Traffic Services seeks overall business unit and operational leadership in the provision of Air Traffic Services, implementing regional strategy and policies aligned with ATNS vision and business strategy.Key Responsibilities:
Provide operational leadership to achieve Air Traffic Management Service Delivery and overall ATNS business strategy. Participate in developing, implementing, and articulating regional strategy and value proposition. Lead the design, implementation, and management of the Air Traffic Service Unit business plan. Drive delivery of required projects/initiatives within the Air Traffic Service Unit strategy. Analyze trends and metrics to develop solutions and policies aligned with business needs. Set clear targets for the Air Traffic Service Centre/Unit and ensure achievement. Develop the annual business plan for the Air Traffic Service Unit. Build and maintain strong business relationships with customers. Ensure continuous collaboration for conducting research and development. Ensure effective integration and implementation of all Air Traffic Service Centre/Unit's resources. Deliver Air Traffic Services in accordance with South African Civil Aviation Regulations and International Civil Aviation Organisation's Standards and Recommended practices. Manage and implement Aeronautical Information Management. Provide Air Traffic Service Unit inputs and participate in reviewing legislation affecting Air Traffic Services. Implement projects aimed at improving client experience. Ensure communication to affected parties is of requisite quality, empathy, and timelines. Monitor trends or indicators of deterioration in safety or service levels. Authorize the extension of normal services and special operations. Ensure aviation safety and value-added measures are delivered and monitored. Plan and manage visits to other regional ATCC's. Support a drive for continuous innovation and evolution of ATNS products and services. Identify and recommend improvements in existing processes and procedures. Consider commercial implications in decision-making. Monitor and evaluate outcomes of new products and processes. Actively contribute to building a high-performing and collaborative culture. Partner with the wider business to build and foster innovation in our culture of service excellence. Manage and implement a robust governance framework. Continuously monitor and measure compliance of the Air Traffic Service Centre/Unit to all ATNS policies and procedures and relevant legislation. Manage the Air Traffic Service Unit's performance against strategy and set targets and corporate objectives. Lead the Air Traffic Service Unit's projects' overall risk assessment and issue management. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policy, and standards. Consolidate input from all relevant parties to prepare strategic level reports. Prepare ad hoc reports as required. Build, maintain, and nurture mutually beneficial relationships with all relevant stakeholders. Adapt Air Traffic Management service delivery as practically as possible to meet client needs and expectations. Participate in industry and regulatory forums and workgroups on a local, regional, national, and international level. Build and maintain effective collaborative relationships with all relevant business functions and teams within ATNS. Lead development, utilization, and management of the Air Traffic Service Centre/Unit's budget. Ensure effective leadership in the management of operational costs to enable efficient utilization of financial resources. Ensure accountability and reporting on all costs incurred against the approved budget. In conjunction with ATS Capacity Planning, ensure availability of skilled and competent staff in the Air Traffic Service disciplines at the Centre. Ensure high levels of discipline and performance standards to achieve Air Traffic Management service delivery objectives and the ATNS business strategy. Coordinate and ensure resourcing deliverables in line with the Service Level Agreements. Lead and manage the team to utilize their skills and expertise to support an integrated approach to managing the Air Traffic Service Centre/Unit. Manage performance outputs of the Air Traffic Service Centre/Unit by using the performance management system. Train, mentor, and coach staff as required to ensure continuous development and availability of the required skill and talent. Ensure transfer of knowledge and skills to enable sustainability within Air Traffic Service Centre/Unit from a succession management perspective. Perform talent management aligned to the HR policies and procedures. Drive employee engagement and retention within the Air Traffic Service Centre/Unit function.
