We are looking for a motivated Conveyancing Secretary to join our Legal Department.

Key Responsibilities and Duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Working knowledge of the entire bond registration and transfer process.
  • Drafting and Submitting of Bond instructions to external conveyancers.
  • Perusal and understanding of sale agreements, conditions, caveats and or usufructs registered against a property and prepare files.
  • Ensuring guarantees are in place.
Compile bundles that include various conveyancing documents such as POA's, FICA and other documents relating to registrations. Prepare and action the process relating to Proceed to Lodge, Lodge, on prep and payment of guarantees before registration.

  • Attending to all financial aspects of the transactions including ensuring the correct costs are charged, the correct figures (bond cancellation figures) are sent to the attorneys and other general account queries.
  • Preparing files for cancellation of bonds that are with our office.
  • Processing all documentation pertaining to bond cancellation and or registration.
  • Monitoring and efficiently keeping track of the accounts within the conveyancing process to limit any delays.

Skills and knowledge:

  • Thorough understanding of the conveyancing process in general, i.e., Bonds, cancellations etc.
  • Understanding loan conditions, being able to interpret deeds office, title deeds and other related documents pertaining to the conveyancing process in general.
  • The ability to attend to a bond instruction independently from inception up until registration, whilst effectively managing high volumes.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Team player and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Meticulousness and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualification and Experience:

  • 2+years' experience similar role
  • Microsoft Office experience
  • Numbers orientated to understand basic calculations.
  • Good communication skills to interact with clients/service providers etc.
  • Must be able to work under pressure.
  • Good command of the English language
  • Liaising with various departments
  • Strong administration skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
Must be bilingual of which one of the languages must be English.

Transport to work.


Salary:
R15, R25,000.00 per month
