Job Description:

The Engineering Division plays a pivotal role in ensuring the effective repair and preventative maintenance of the company's recycling plant and equipment across the Cape Town region.

A key function of this role is to evaluate and establish best practices in repair methods, providing cost analysis on services and components used. Additionally, the division manages all development and expansion projects within the Group.

The Technical Manager will assist in directing 10 separate artisan departments, comprising over 150 employees. Each department is managed by its own dedicated Manager.

External service providers supplement the in-house team with specialized skill sets or additional resources as required. They report to the engineering team and are involved in managing relationships and services.

The Engineering Division consists of a team of Engineers led by the Engineering Divisional Directors, who are also Mechanical Engineers. The successful applicant will join this team and report directly to the Senior Engineering Manager.

Qualifying Criteria:

A qualified Mechanical Engineer or Mechatronics Engineer with relevant University or Technikon qualifications.
A minimum of 5-10 years' relevant working experience in a heavy industrial environment as a practicing engineer.
No less than 5 years spent in a management role in an operations environment.
Demonstrated diagnostic skills and logical thinking, with the ability to think critically under pressure.

Working Hours:

Monday - Thursday: 07h30–17h00

Friday: 07h30–16h00

Overtime may be required based on operational needs.
