Requirements:

EPIC, a new department within the Safety & Security Directorate,

requires a dynamic, committed and passionate applicant to fill this

position and become part of the dedicated team that will support

the Safety & Security Directorate's utilisation of EPIC as well as assist

with the Directorate's Digital Transformation journey.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a small department within the

Directorate and to become part of a team committed to improving

the safety of all through the use of innovative technology.

  • A BTECH or First Degree in a relevant field with preference to data
science

  • At least 25 years' experience in data analysis or related
environment

  • Ability to analyse large data sets
  • Experience in data models and reporting packages
  • Valid driver's license
  • Competency in two Official languages of the Western Cape
(English first preference)

  • No criminal record
Key Performance Areas

  • Maintaining spatial and nonspatial attributes of database entries,
security and metadata.

  • Support initiatives for validation of data, data integrity and
normalization.

  • Compiling, analyzing and evaluating statistical data and making
written recommendations to line management.

  • Assist with the designing and maintaining data systems by utilizing
tools to interpret various datasets

  • Creating appropriate documentation that allows stakeholders to
understand the steps of the data analysis process in order to

replicate the analysis if necessary.

  • Preparing reports referring to statistical data and qualitative
information related to service delivery initiatives for the attention of

the operations manager for consideration.

  • Extracting queries to create meaningful derived information that
