    Electrical Quantity Surveyor

    A leading Electrical company, specializing in off-grid and hybrid energy solutions, is currently seeking an Electrical Quantity Surveyor.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate estimates for electrical materials, labour, and equipment required for construction projects.
    • Tendering: Assist in the tendering process by analysing and evaluating bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
    • Budget Management: Monitor project budgets and expenditures to ensure costs are kept within allocated limits.
    • Value Engineering: Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising on quality or safety.
    • Measurement and Billing: Take-off quantities from drawings and specifications to produce bills of quantities (BOQs) and invoices.
    • Contract Administration: Review contracts and variations to ensure all parties adhere to contractual obligations.
    • Cost Reporting: Prepare regular cost reports for stakeholders, highlighting any deviations from budget.
    • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks impacting project costs or schedules.
    • Collaboration: Liaise with project team members, including architects, engineers, and contractors, to ensure electrical costs are accurately accounted for.
    • Compliance: Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant regulations, codes, and standards.
    • Analytical Skills: Strong numerical and analytical skills are necessary for accurately estimating costs and analysing data.
    • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for interacting with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
    • Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail is important when reviewing project documentation and producing accurate cost estimates.
    • Negotiation Skills: The ability to negotiate effectively with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favourable pricing is valuable.
    • Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work within tight deadlines is crucial in this role.

    Desired Experience & Qualification

    • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
    • Previous experience in quantity surveying or electrical estimating within the construction industry.
    • Experience specifically in electrical estimating or contracting is highly desirable.

    Knowledge & Experience

    • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel is essential.
    • Familiarity with building information modelling (BIM) and other construction management software is beneficial.

    A strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and ability to work effectively in a team environment are essential for success in this role.
