    International Business Manager - Midrand
    What an exciting opportunity for the right individual that has the experience and loves to travel. To work with a leading Restaurant Brand Internationally.
    Based in Midrand South Africa the role is to grow existing and new international territories and ensure compliance to group standards from a People, Food, Guest and Business perspective.

    PURPOSE

    AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
    PEOPLE

    • Reviews and implements the perfect people mix per restaurant including driving scheduling to deliver on a great guest experience taking into account the labour cost budget in

    International territories.

    • Drive and guard the Company culture for crew in International.
    • Makes sure that country people practices are aligned to Company group standards.

    FOOD

    • Accountable to manage, correct, drive all aspects relating to great food from the back door to the table.
    • Responsible for reviewing all Company supply chain orders to ensure that only approved product is served in country.
    • Works with Supply chain teams to share forecasts for international Supply by territory.
    • Schedules training programs between in country BOH leaders and Support office training team to maintain food quality.
    • Works with in country leadership to review menu performance and develop annual menu to keep the brand relevant in country

    GUEST

    • Schedules training programs between in country FOH leaders and support office training team to deliver Company guest experience.
    • Spends time on the floor with guests during busy times.
    • Reviews guest feedback and works with in country team to maintain an above 4.5 review score on guest platforms.
    • Drives relevant locality marketing activities to attract guests in country.

    BUSINESS

    • Develops Licensee engagement plan to connect the support office with in country leaders to keep international territories aligned to the Company brand.
    • Drives license partners to meet restaurant performance schedule.
    • Develops annual business plans and budgets per country and per restaurant that include targets, monthly milestones and supporting activities and projects to achieve the budget.
    • Briefs the marketing team on what is needed per restaurant to attract, retain guests, and build relationships with communities.
    • Prepares a monthly report per restaurant.
    • Works with the country leaders to achieve Food cost and controllable expense budgets in line with the business budget.
    • Stays connected with the broader international hospitality industry.
    • Building relationships and getting the Brand name out there.
    • Connects with potential country licensees to grow the Brands international presence.
    • Develops market entry reports for potential territories, reviewing the market competitors, guest profile and supply chain.
    • Works with the business finance team to approve monthly turnovers and collect any outstanding funds.

    SKILLS

    • Industry related leadership experience of at least 5 years in a multi-unit restaurant environment.
    • Strong business acumen.
    • Must be able to read and interpret a business income statements and spot levers that contribute to results.
    • Natural people person. Strong and articulate communication skills written and verbal.
    • Strong crisis management and conflict mediation skills
    • Must have managed a restaurant. Understand the ins and outs of what makes restaurants great.
    • Build and nurture trust with teams, customers and external suppliers.
    • Strong organizational and planning skills. We do NOT want a chaotic operator/fire fighter who runs from problem to problem.
    • Strong POS and stock management skills.
    • Experience in Labour management and payroll systems.
    • Strong MS office skills especially Excel.
    • International business development experience.
    • Strong negotiation skills.
    • Valid passport (EU or British passport will be advantageous)
    • Prepared to travel extensively throughout Europe/Africa and the UK

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Hospitality and business qualification an advantage
