- Design and implement database environments that meet business processing needs.
- Configure, monitor, and manage database backup, tuning, patching, and disaster recovery architecture and plans.
- Maintain high availability environments through replication, clustering, and mirroring.
- Ensure optimal performance of all enterprise databases.
- Proactively identify and troubleshoot database issues using good judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Establish and enforce database architecture and security standards.
- Implement industry-wide best practices and standards.
- Develop and maintain automated application migration processes for High Availability and SDLC migration.
- Independently develop, maintain, and troubleshoot complex databases.
- Coordinate and lead disaster recovery testing processes.
- Analyze database performance, capacity, and capacity planning for future expansion.
- Evaluate and manage uptake of database environment patching and new versions.
- BS degree and 5-8 years of technology experience, including 4 years in database administration; or 7+ years administering Oracle and SQL Server databases in an enterprise setting.
- Experience with Database Administration of complex systems using Oracle 11/12c and MS SQL Server in a Windows server environment.
- Proficiency in developing and maintaining complex scripts using SQL, T-SQL, PL/SQL, and/or PowerShell.
- Strong experience with database optimization, performance tuning, backup and restore, table space allocation/management, clustering, and database health management.
- Experience with evaluation, selection, implementation, and management of products supporting Disaster Recovery and High Availability architecture.
- Excellent technical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with Oracle RAC and/or DataGuard preferred.
- Experience with validation of regulated database environments preferred.
- Unix/Linux platform administration experience a plus.
- Familiarity with web services and RESTful Services (JSON and XML) or Java/.NET a plus.
