    Job Title: Food Safety Specialist

    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Safety Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the implementation of effective food safety systems across various projects.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop tailored project plans in line with project proposals for all implementation projects.
    • Manage implementation projects to ensure efficient delivery within timelines and meet deliverables as per project proposal.
    • Create, update, and tailor compliance documents and checklists per project to ensure professional standards and client needs.
    • Conduct gap audits, internal audits, hygiene audits, and readiness audits of a professional standard and submit reports within 5 working days.
    • Prepare for, manage, and facilitate training interventions to maintain professional standards and receive positive delegate feedback.
    • Complete learner assessments according to company procedures and process, ensuring accurate Portfolios and batch QMS submissions.
    • Attend weekly planning sessions and coordinate training and consulting schedules with the Marketing and Sales Manager.
    • Liaise with clients to confirm consultations, prepare for each consultation, and account for billable time spent with clients.
    • Report on project deviations or concerns in a timely manner to remedy potential issues with relevant parties.
    • Assist with estimating consultation time required for implementation projects by analyzing client checklists and master document lists.
    • Communicate professionally and promptly with client queries or communications.
    • Utilize free time/admin days effectively by improving auditing and consulting templates or training material.

    Requirements:

    • A Diploma or Degree in Food-related studies (Food Technology, Agriculture, Consumer Science, or Microbiology).
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a food environment.
    • Preferably a trained Food Safety Lead Auditor.
    • Strong knowledge of Food Safety Systems, including FSSC 22000, BRCGS, GLOBALG.A.P, and SIZA.
    • Accredited in GMP, HACCP, Internal Auditing, and FSMS.
    • Certification in BRCGS (3-day), FSSC 22000 (3-day), ISO 9001, Food Fraud and Food Defense.
    • A.P Assurer qualification.
    • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Fluent in Afrikaans (non-negotiable).
    • Occasional travel may be required, including potential overnight stays.

    Working Hours:

    • Monday to Friday: 08:00 - 16:30.
