    Job Purpose
  • The Executive Unsecured Credit Analytics oversees the technical risk management policies and the pricing and profitability models for personal loans, overdrafts, and credit cards. This role ensures that the unsecured products in the Consumer Banking cluster within RBB (Retail and Business Banking), are actively managed from a credit risk perspective, balancing the bank's aspirations for risk, growth, and profitability. The executive will lead a team of quantitative analysts responsible for credit risk analytics, credit policy, pricing and profitability and monthly reporting on new business performance including approval rates, exposure granted and new vintage risk & profitability.
  • The role will report directly to the Executive Head of VA and pricing in RBB's CVM function. Specific experience managing credit risk in unsecured lending products (Personal loans, Overdrafts, or Credit Cards) is preferred.

Responsibilities:


  • The team's core objective is to manage credit risk and margin within the constraint of each product's cost base to ensure growth aspirations are achieved through appropriate risktaking, thereby achieving desired headline earnings and ROE targets as set by group and cluster strategy.

  • Setting marginal risk thresholds to ensure appropriate risktaking with the ability to absorb fixed cost and add to portfolio profitability
  • Affordability assessment including NCA and riskbased practices
  • Offer parameters including maximum limits, loan sizes & terms (personal loans)
  • Riskbased pricing and fees to meet profitability targets through the development and maintenance of NPV (Net Present Value) and portfolio profitability models
  • Explorative analytics and datadriven insights.
  • Meet business/function objectives by managing progress against the strategic goals the cluster has committed to against 3year plans. To inform business strategy and policy, provide insights regarding trends and the impact of the external environment and regulations.
  • Take responsibility for developing, validating, and maintaining models, frameworks, and methodologies by creating a conducive environment.
  • Monitor external information by researching, analysing, and reporting. Scope; manage and deliver on ad hoc projects by allocating individual resources within set parameters and setting expectations.
  • Ensure the portfolio remains within risk appetite limits by managing and/or monitoring and reporting on risk every month. Manage risk by adhering to internal and external compliance and governance policies.
  • Continuously enhance quality by reviewing and improving processes, systems, and workflows.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders by networking through targeted and informal interactions and consistently delivering quality output to build trust.
  • Communicate the team's output to relevant committees/forums to facilitate improved risk measurement and management.
  • Engage and manage external stakeholders when required to meet business/function requirements.

  • Measure the effectiveness of differentiated culture plans through staff and client feedback and ensure corrective action plans are developed and implemented.
  • Optimize costs by developing and managing the Quants budget.
  • Inform business decisions (directly/indirectly) by consolidating; analysing; interpreting and making recommendations based on findings from various projects.
