Environmental Scientist - Westville, South Africa - Hire Resolve

Hire Resolve's client in the environmental consulting industry is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Environmental Scientist to join their team in Westville, KZN. The Environmental Scientist will be responsible for assisting with environmental assessments, conducting research, and providing technical support on various environmental projects. The successful candidate will work closely with clients and project teams to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and guidelines.

Responsibilities:

• Project management of environmental assessment and monitoring projects
• Develop proposal documents and budgets
• Prepare all reports that are applicable to Applications for Environmental Authorisations and
• Water Use Licence Applications
• Perform evaluations of environmental impacts and apply for water usage licenses.
• Conducting risk assessments and providing recommendations for mitigation strategies
• Producing detailed reports on findings and recommendations
• Liaising with clients and stakeholders to ensure project goals are met

Requirements

• BSc Honours in Environmental Management or related field
• Master's degree in Environmental Management in advantageous
• Registration with the Environmental Assessment Practitioners Association of South Africa (EAPASA) is mandatory
• Registration with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP) is mandatory
• At least 3 to 5 years of consulting experience
• Excellent communication and client liaison abilities
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and legislation
• Experience with mining projects will be advantageous
