OBJECTIVE:


To lead, manage and provide strategic & tactical direction for the efficient and effective running of the OTC marketing department.

Responsible for the development and execution of the strategic and tactical sales & marketing plans for key focus brands as well as established brands within the OTC division, by increasing share of voice, routes to market, via maximizing market share and return on investment and attaining financial objectivesof P&L.

Managing and implementing, reviewing and monitoring any digital needs and solution offering for the requirements of Aspen SA Commercial.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Financial Objectives:


  • Achieve annual fiscal revenue targets for the OTC division
  • Achieve GP Margin Target for portfolio
  • Manage OPEX (cost centres and profit centres) for the portfolio
  • Ensure Working Capital achievement per company ratio's

Stock & Supply:


  • Tight inventory management and tracking
  • Manage supply of products across value chain
  • Ensure optimal margin mix
  • Ensure forecast accuracy
  • Management of shortdated stock and OOS management

Operational Excellence:


  • Balance between strategy and execution identify key risk areas/ products with action plans and implementation thereof
  • Monthly Risk & Opportunities Analysis
  • Manage & Lead marketing teams across OTC Division
  • Ensure robust brand and sales plans annually and execution thereof
  • Engage key customers across to ensure high level of service delivery
  • Ensure PERT approach for planning and launch of new products, prelaunch and postlaunch for robust sales uptake
  • Ensure all KPI's are met for marketing teams
  • Work with Sales & Trade Managers to ensure all parameters are met on sales force tactical objectives, plans, budget setting and achievement
  • Support Key Accounts and Commercial Manager/ Channel Manager to attain set objectives (sales ambition and spend budgets)
  • Track and monitor OTC promo grids across for optimal ROI

People & Culture:


  • Coach and develop team to exceed on objectives
  • Individual development plans for team
  • Succession planning
  • Competency Development where gaps exist

Compliance & Ethics:


  • Ensure all purchases transacted are compliant with company policies and procedures and procurement requirements, including the SA Code of Marketing

Digital:


  • Ensure all digital needs and solution offerings are met across the Aspen SA business
  • Implement innovative and unique digital platforms, that can disrupt and garner market share momentum for brands
  • Regularly assess and monitor the Aspen eLearning platform to ensure this tool is constantly optimized to yield strong results for eLearning across various department needs

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:


  • Matric
  • Degree in Health Sciences or Health Science related
  • Post-Graduate Degree/ Diploma that is Business related
  • Degree/ Diploma in Advanced Management
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in diverse Commercial Management, across diverse therapeutic areas and healthcare product/ category range required
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in sales environment across Consumer products and/or Healthcare products (scheduled and/or nonscheduled) required
  • Proven track record in driving implementation of sales & marketing plans and processes
  • Having prior sales and/or marketing experience in consumer, originator, and generic healthcare segments advantageous
  • Strong expertise and experience in digital platforms, with innovative insight to current and future digital landscape

KNOWLEDGE:


  • Good Knowledge of pharma and OTC market and business
  • Knowledge of strategy and tactical plans and actions within OTC Division
  • Product & Therapeutic knowledge across OTC and Consumer categories
  • Strong and entrenched business relationships with key consumer and OTC customers
  • Strong Financial Acumen and high degree of agility and know how in business analytics
  • Strong operational capabilities
  • Deep insights into customer dynamics with specific ref
