Cape Cookies is a manufacturer in the FMCG sector, based in Maitland, requiring the services of an experienced
Assistant Costing Accountant who has at least 5 years' experience in a
Costing role as well as a post matric accounting / booking qualification.

Requirements:

Prior experience in managing a debtors and creditors department
Prior experience in the FMCG industry
Prior experience of stock counting
Prior experience in reconciling balance sheet accounts and analysing expense accounts
Ability to work independently
Ability to meet deadlines and perform within a team
Working knowledge of SAP
High level of Excel capability
Good numeric skills
Strong analytical capabilities
Problem solver
Able to interact with different stakeholders on all levels of the entity
Maintain good working relationships

Key performance areas

Coordination and management of debtors and creditors department
Liaise with all relevant departments
Monthly and annual stock count coordination
Product costing
Production orders coordination and reporting on factory efficiencies
Reconciliations of monthly balance sheet accounts
Analysis of sales information
Data analysis from external reports and comparison to SAP
Prepare monthly expense analysis
Daily, weekly and monthly reporting
Journal preparation and capturing
Assist with the cashflow planning process
Assist with yearend processes and external auditors
Performing of ad hoc assignments as and when required

Qualification

Post matric accounting / bookkeeping qualification essential
Costing knowledge and experience essential
