    Job Title:

    Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Sales and Business Development Manager


    Key Performance Areas:

    • Manage the BESS product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities.
    • Provide technical expertise to sales team for effective product promotion.
    • Effectively manage sales and promotional resources to achieve targeted sales within an agreed period.
    • Act as point of reference for product-related enquiries and collaborate with colleagues in Product Development & Technical to address any issues.
    • Specify market requirements for current products through market research, customer visits, and non-customer visits.
    • Develop and implement a company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute.
    • Analyze potential partner relationships for the product.
    • Collaborate with Marketing to develop advertising, promotion, and sales aids according to the BESS promotional plan.
    • Prepare product forecasts and continuously monitor market for tenders, enquiries, and other sales opportunities.
    • Present internal BESS reports to executives, sales personnel, and other departments on a regular basis.
    • Attend product development meetings to continue adding value based on market trends.
    • Develop key opinion leader support for the BESS project.

    Short-term Strategic Goals:

    • Develop a sales/business plan for BESS in 2024 and beyond.
    • Drive sales growth in 2024.
    • Establish effective processes and procedures to drive BESS sales.
    • Galvanize sales team activities towards achieving set targets.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Tertiary degree or relevant work experience.
    • At least 3 years of sales and business development experience.
    • Knowledgeable about the BESS industry.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Assertive/Persuasive.
    • Attention to detail.
    • Analytical.
    • Initiative.
    • Ability to work under pressure.
    • Maintain consistency and accuracy of message.
    • Deliver unified, consistent brand message to stakeholders.
    • Support teams with valuable programs to drive business.
    • This position requires travel to customer and non-customer sites in Southern Africa region.
