    Job Description:

    As a newly appointed CAD Engineer, you will create bespoke technical drawings based on information from the project management and sales teams. You will primarily produce working drawings for the operations team, but may also create conceptual drawings for sales quotations. Each site requires a tailored approach, sometimes starting from scratch and other times adjusting existing drawings.

    Main Responsibilities:

  • Create CAD drawings from information provided by Technical Sales personnel.
  • Produce manufacturing/fabrication drawings where required, including 3D drawings for the sales team.
  • In the initial phase, time may be spent on-site with installers to learn the trade.
  • Leverage knowledge of ductwork design, sizing, and airflow to take a central role in ductwork design.
  • Manage your task list and prioritize tasks as necessary.
  • Organize and file drawings as required.

    • Sample Tasks:

  • Detailed Fabrication Drawings
  • General Arrangement and System Layout Drawings
  • Bill of Materials and Material Requirement Lists

    • Requirements:

    • Strong numerical skills.
    • Excellent written and spoken English.
    • High proficiency in AutoCAD & SolidWorks.
    • A good understanding of ductwork design and airflows – able to calculate requirements.
    • Strong organization skills.
    • Ability to prioritize workload, good time management skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Interpersonal and team-working skills.
    • Suitable IT equipment (able to handle large software programs and files).

    Key Performance Indicators:

  • Completing work within timelines.
  • Accuracy of work.
  • Working to and completing check sheets.

    • SUCCESS in this role looks like:

  • Producing accurate drawings within predefined timelines.
  • Completing all check sheets to ensure drawing standards are met.
  • Seeking help, advice, support, training when needed.
  • Quickly grasping the specifics of the role.

    • Remote Work: Fully Remote

    Work Hours: 7am - 4:30 pm

    Salary Range: R30 000 - R40 000
