Assist the branch manager in ensuring that stock items are appropriately and correctly handled and binned to minimize shrinkage. Also to ensure FIFO system is being followed.

Make recommendations and forward ideas to the branch manager to improve efficiency in storage, handling of stock as well as stores layout/flow.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Good English, written and spoken

Skilled in coordinating deliveries

Trustworthy

Ability to perform duties and deliberate speed and accuracy without immediate and constant supervision

Ability to exercise good judgment in recognizing scope of authority and protecting confidential information.

Be able to work under pressure.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensuing internal control procedures are maintained regarding inventory items entering and leaving the store area.

Ensuing an inventory "vacuum system" is always maintained.

Restricting of access to the store, with visitors being accompanied at all times.

On-time signing of waybills for goods received.


Inspection of all incoming inventory items to ensure that the goods are undamaged and are in-fact the correct goods as ordered.

Ensuring that only goods are received for which purchases orders are raised.


Ensuring that damaged stock, in the process of being received, is reported without delay to the branch manager and isolated in a quarantine holding area.

Photographs are also required to be taken.

Assisting in the investigation of discrepancies relating to goods transfers.

Receiving goods on the ERP system within 24 hours of physical receipt.


Following up with the branch manager on goods received for credit, to be processed within 24 hours of being received.

Ensuring that all inventory items are always located at bin locations.

Ensuring that the ERP system is maintained frequently, specifically relating to bin location maintenance.

Ensure that the store is always kept tidy, by virtue of daily housekeeping.

Accompanying the branch manager on daily store walkthroughs and giving feedback on queries raised.

Ensuing that inventory items are always handled with due care to avoid possible damages.

Reporting of stock discrepancies to the branch manager and assisting with the investigation process.

Identifying soon to expire inventory items, and the reporting thereof on a frequent basis to the branch manager.

Ensuring that stock is dispatched using a "first in first out" basis.

Ensuring that goods to be dispatch have been packed and prepared adequately.

Maintaining a tracking system of goods situated in the dispatch cage and reporting back to the branch manager.
