Plans, designs, develops and performs quality assessments on data elements and structures to document and evaluate integrity, completeness, quality, and appropriateness of formats, records and structures.

Configures, operates and develops manual and/or automated methods, processes and procedures to test output or input based on data compliance, quality and use requirements as established by product management, client specifications, and governance programs.

Performs regular and ad hoc reviews, audits, and investigations of data activity and integrity; prepares reports and summaries of findings.

Produces and updates guidelines and documentation of test development processes, procedures and standards.


Working at NTT

Key Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Oversee the lifecycle of the HR organisational data set.
  • Define and implement policies and procedures for the daytoday operational and administrative management of systems and data.
  • Document and maintain standard business definitions and metadata for critical data elements associated with each key data element.
  • Implement data quality standards, including data rules associated with data sets using technology to assess and maintain conformance to information policies, particularly accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Communicate issues associated with the data lifecycle, i.e., the creation, modification, sharing, reuse, retention and backup of data and resolve any issues accordingly.
  • Participate in the development of data quality standards that must be applied to data sets used and produced.
  • Maintain data by scheduling and executing periodic reviews and updates, handling issues of data ageing or retention within the scope of maintenance.
  • Document metadata associated with business rules and identify and document the way that information is being used and by which users / stakeholders.
  • Manage data sources for reference information, both internal and external data providers.
  • Identify, authenticate and authorise information users, validating security for access to the data, authorising modifications to reference data and providing access to data standards for browsing purposes.
  • Act as an agent for data governance policy and standards and influence effective data entry, usage and quality control.

Knowledge, skills and attributes:


  • Programming expertise and rational database proficiency
  • Proficiency in data modelling and acumen in domains such as data warehousing and storage concepts
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to write technical documents
  • Deep understanding of database structures
  • Solid problemsolving ability
  • Knowledge of data governance and quality, including policies, processes and tools
  • Understanding of business ERP systems and product data storage
  • Ability to relate data to both business process and human consumers
  • Detailed analytical thinking to evaluate data, identify issues and implement solutions
  • Expertise in managing large data volumes and developing automated processes to facilitate routine activities

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree in any relevant field
  • Relevant technical certifications

Experience required:


  • Previous experience in a similar role, e.g., as a technical data steward
  • Experience working with a variety of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience working with data governance and quality tools
  • Strong background in relational databases
