Our client in the Franschhoek Valley is in need of a dedicated and experienced Housekeeping Manager to lead their housekeeping team in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
Overview:
As the Housekeeping Manager you will play a pivital role in ensuring that our hotel maintains a pristine and inviting atmosphere for our guests.
You will lead a team of housekeeping and laundry staff, oversee daily departmental operations in line with the set out departmental budget.
Attention to detail, leadership skills and commitment to excellence will be crucial in upholding our reputation for cleanliness and comfort.
Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
Recruit, train and manage housekeeping and laundry staff
Set performance standards, conduct regular evaluations, and provide feedback
Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork
Cleaning Operations:
Develop and implement cleaning as well as laundry schedules and procedures
Ensure all guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces are maintained to the highest cleanliness standards
Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning and laundry supplies, guest amenities, linen and equipment
Quality Control:
Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness and presentation meet or exceed guest expectations
Address any deficiencies promptly and effectively
Implement corrective actions and improvements as needed
Budget Management:
Manage the departments budget including payroll and supplies cost
Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality
Guest Satisfaction:
Address guest concerns and requests related to housekeeping promptly and professionally.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure guest needs are met
Safety and Compliance
Enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment
Monitor compliance with safety and hygiene regulations and hotel policies
Reporting:
Generate reports on departments performance and staff productivity
Provide regular updates to senior management
Other:
General administrative tasks
Ensure rostering and adequate staffing levels in line with business volumes
Undertakes and attends stock takes
Duty Manager shifts
Requirements:
Previous experience as a Housekeeping Manager required
Guest and service centric approach, leads by example
Attention to detail and a passion for cleanliness
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
Excellent problem solving and decision making skills
Proficient computer skills, MS office and PMS
Knowledgable about health and safety regulations
Able to work hospitality hours including weekends and public holidays
Own vehicle and valid driver's license
