Description
A Leading Chemical Operations Plant is looking for an experienced Chemist in the Chemical, Lubricants and Fuel Industry.

Purpose


Responsibilities:


  • Using a range of software, techniques, and equipment to carry out research and analysis.
  • Analysing and interpreting research data
  • Making sure that data is accurately recorded in accordance with guidelines.
  • Reporting and presenting results to Management
  • Writing research reports, reviews, and summaries
  • Keeping up to date with scientific and technical developments
  • Ensuring that health and safety standards are adhered to.
  • Preparing product license documentation
  • Liaising with customers, suppliers, and research/scientific staff
  • Developing new analytical methods
  • Writing progress reports
  • Overall accountability for Lab and associated staff and equipment
  • Management of Respective Product data analysis of fuels, industrial and commercial chemicals as well as lubricants
  • Ensuring that License documentation for Products are conducted and prepared
  • Preparation of Budgets and Procurement documents for the Lab
  • Maintain ISO standards and systems for the Lab
  • Ensuring that the equipment used within the Lab and during processes are calibrated and meet the required standards.
  • Responsible for Ensuring that non-conformances are completed and investigations are done thoroughly.
Detailed work activities


  • Analyze chemical compounds or substances.
  • Maintain laboratory or technical equipment.
  • Evaluate quality of materials or products.
  • Prepare compounds or solutions for products or testing.
  • Set up laboratory or field equipment.
  • Interpret research or operational data.
  • Train personnel in technical or scientific procedures.
  • Prepare scientific or technical reports for presentations.
  • Manage scientific or technical project resources.
  • Operate laboratory or field equipment.
  • Supervise scientific or technical personnel.
  • Develop new or advanced products or production methods.
  • Write progress and management reports.
  • Supervise Junior staff including lab assistants and interns.
  • Perform other duties as directed by Management

Salary:
R10, R40,000.00 per month
