What You Can Expect:

The inventory specialist is responsible for implementing company inventory / instrument policy and procedure. This includes minimizing inventory/ instrument investment as well as maintaining accurate records of product placements. Good working knowledge of company products, operating systems and procedures is critical. Assisting on all departments as and when required


How You Create Impact:


  • Ensure cycle counts for the Warehouse are accurate, reasonable, and completed in a timely manner.
  • Interacts with supporting teams to ensure proper controls on product introductions, launches and withdrawals.
  • Receiving of product from suppliers according to the inbound processes within SAP.
  • Coordinates and reports on the status of inventory levels in the Warehouse, making use of systems in place, such as SAP.
  • Inventory control / record integrity
  • Coordinate product recall activities
  • Maintain accurate records
  • Inventory Management
  • Build Instrumentation kits with stock received.
  • Responsible for doing stock counts
  • Support Internal / External Customers
  • Assist Sales Reps as required in servicing of the daily surgery schedules
  • Prepare and ship daily replenishments to customer consignments and branches
  • Ensures that all scheduled cases are checked back, replenished, and ready for the next booking on time.
  • Reviews routes for productivity and efficiency
  • Liaises the retrieval of equipment based on information received from the Sales Team with the drivers according to a route plan within the expected timelines.
  • Reports and suggests solutions to the Team Lead for all shortages or difficult movements of product.
  • Coordinates with the Instrument and Implant Team Leads to ensure cases are available to be delivered and communicates expected time frame of return.
  • Updating SAP in a timely manner
  • Work with minimum supervision
  • Will need to work on a rotation system (3 months' day shift, 3 months' night shift)
  • Pick, pack, check and receive all instrument sets
  • Inspect quality of returned material / equipment.
  • Identify and confirm returned instrument sets on SAP as per the receiving process.
  • Decontamination processing of returned equipment.
  • Identify discrepancies in bookings, ensuring that corrective action takes place to minimize company risk.
  • Pick instrument sets as per the booking sheet or branch request by ensuring they are intact and in good condition to be issued.
  • Confirm picked instrument set on SAP according to the picking process.
  • Respond to customer or branch enquiries in a timely manner.
  • General warehouse and other related duties as required
  • Always adhering to all health and safety standards.
  • Ensuring all booking in of stock and outgoings are completed daily according to warehouse processes.
  • Picking and packing of customer and branch orders.
  • Manual Handling.
  • Working in a team environment.
  • Processing paperwork as required.
  • Using SAP.
  • Ensuring compliance to SOPs.
  • Working in a physically demanding environment.
  • Always ensure good housekeeping
  • Comply with health and safety standards
  • Comply with all SOPs and Works Instructions
  • Need to work overtime and shifts as and when required
  • Work weekends as and when required

What Will Make You Stand Out:

  • Matric essential
  • Further Tertiary qualification and advantage
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in Inventory Management, materials management, customer service, or related fields essential.
  • Previous experience with warehouse processes for example, stock control, inbound processes, creation of instrument sets and implant banks.
