    Job Description

    The Senior Electronic Hardware Engineer will lead the design, development, and testing of Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) for a leading Defence/Aerospace company. This role requires a strong technical background and experience in electronic circuit simulation and design as well as the ability to lead the LRU development process from preliminary design through to production.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Design and Development: Design, simulate and complete Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design and routing of LRUs according to specifications provided by the Systems Engineer.
    • Hardware Design Process: Follow the defined electronic hardware design processes and document design according to hardware design plan.
    • Peer Review: Take part in peer reviews of LRUs.
    • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor Junior Engineers, providing technical guidance and support.
    • Integration: Collaborate with software, mechanical, DSP, RF and aeronautical teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware LRUs.
    • Testing and Validation: Test and validate hardware designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations (DO-160, MIL-STD-704).
    • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to hardware design and performance.
    • Technology Advancements: Stay updated with the latest advancements in electronic hardware technologies and apply them to projects.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Education: BEng Electronic, MEng Electronic or similar degree.
    • Experience: Minimum 10 years' experience. 15 years and more preferred.
    • Industry Background: Experience in the Military and/or Aerospace industry would be advantageous.
    • Technical Skills: Schematic design, PCB design, simulation of circuits, analysis of circuits, development processes, testing procedures: Altium, LTspice or similar, High Speed Digital Design (50GbE to 100GbE), extensive experience in analog, digital and communication electronic hardware designs.
