    Description

    Position Overview
    This role is office-based, operating from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM. As a Cloud Support Engineer specializing in Data in Transit, you will assist clients utilizing AWS services for ETL workloads and large-scale data analysis.

    Key Responsibilities
    In this position, you will engage with a variety of AWS services, including Glue (ETL service), Athena (interactive query service), and Managed Workflows of Apache Airflow. Your responsibilities will encompass:

    • Designing and troubleshooting ETL pipelines to facilitate data ingestion into data lakes or warehouses, addressing simple to medium complexity transformations.
    • Applying your knowledge of Linux and networking principles to enhance service delivery.
    • Utilizing advanced SQL skills for query performance optimization.
    • Integrating and managing extensive datasets from diverse sources.
    • Reading and interpreting Python and Scala code.
    • Implementing solutions in distributed computing environments.
    • Utilizing tools such as Spark, Hive, and Presto for data processing.
    • Working with Docker for containerization.
    • Employing Python and shell scripting for automation.
    • Delivering exceptional customer service and support.

    Qualifications
    The ideal candidate will possess:

    • A Master’s degree in Information Science, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field, or a Bachelor’s degree with at least one year of relevant experience.
    • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in ETL tools like Talend or Informatica.
    • Experience with AWS services, including EC2, S3, EBS, Glue, and Athena.
    • Strong background in Linux system monitoring and analysis.
    • Understanding of networking concepts and protocols such as DNS, TCP/IP, and DHCP.
