Vacancy:
Assistant Operator X20 (Fixed Term contract until 31 March 2024)

Purpose of the Job
To support the Manufacturing team with their execution of duties delegated by Artisans.

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum Grade 12 with pure Maths and Physical Science
Experience in manufacturing environment would be advantageous
Experience in stainless steel industry would be advantageous

Responsibilities:

Support quality initiatives
Support the team leaders and artisans
Maintain 5S condition of the working zone
Maintain safety standards in the department
Drive cost improvement initiatives through continuous improvement
Maintain equipment standards (through TPM schedules)

Behavioural Requirements:

Must have ambition and willingness to learn the assembling, manufacturing, straightening and cleaning procedures in the stainlesssteel environment
Ability to read and write and follow procedures
Must be safety and quality conscious
Must be quality conscious
Able to work with mínimal supervision, and be able to follow instructions
Able to relate well with people
Manage time well, by prioritising and sequencing tasks
Willing to be trained in more than one discipline of the rolling stock process
Must be able and willing to perform the same task repeatedly & consistently
Must be able to consistently stand for entire shift
