Are you passionate about workplace safety and looking to grow your career in health and safety? Our client, a leader in the FMCG sector, is seeking a motivated Junior Health & Safety Officer to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, organize, and execute fire drills and emergency evacuation procedures.
Assist in compiling HIRA (Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment) and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) with departmental managers' guidance.
Conduct incident investigations and evaluate final reports.
Perform contractor inductions and audit contractor files for compliance.
Assist with annual medical checks and compile the company's annual training matrix.
Perform supplier, internal audits, and external certification audits.
Maintain health and safety regulation compliance according to company policies.

Minimum Requirements:

Education:
- Grade 12 certificate.
- H&S qualification is non-negotiable.
- Relevant qualifications such as Samtrac, Introduction to Samtrac, Nebosh, or other related OHS training are advantageous.
Experience:
- 13 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably within an FMCG environment.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of South African health and safety regulations.
- Ability to compile HIRA and SOP documents.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Additional:
- A Code 8 driver's license and own reliable car are advantageous.
