- Take full responsibility for the comprehensive management of AC/DC site energy metering across the nation, while delivering technical assistance to the finance and property divisions regarding all technical aspects of energy billing, with an emphasis on ensuring precise billing.
- This encompasses the design requirements for metering solutions that will fulfill both AC and DC billing needs.
- The position necessitates attention to various site-specific operational and maintenance requirements to guarantee the effective and accurate billing of the owned, managed, and supported energy infrastructure.
- Develop site-specific metering strategies tailored for diverse clients based on design support from energy solution architects.
- Assist operations and maintenance partners to ensure that metering capabilities on-site are consistently reliable and technically operational.
- Lead, organize, and supervise the testing, installation, and upkeep of AC and DC billing meters.
- Provide expert technical support on all matters related to metering and billing.
- Design and implement technical metering solutions to ensure effective financial management in all billing and metering activities, supporting the management team with all related requirements.
- Identify leading-edge technical metering solutions for both AC and DC needs.
- Accountable for the development, coordination, and execution of weekly and daily work plans and schedules for metering operations.
- Contribute to the power-as-a-service engineering team and leadership in crafting unique and innovative solutions.
- Address complex metering challenges involving meter theory, vector analysis, and meter communications.
- Establish frameworks to monitor, assess, and manage supplier, contractor, and third-party performance against their contracted scope of work, benchmarking best practices.
- Provide technical support to the commercial, finance, and property teams.
- Assist the commercial, finance, and property teams to ensure accurate financial management can be applied both internally and externally, with a site-specific profit and loss perspective on energy usage.
- Create dashboards to enhance management visibility on energy usage and recovery, ensuring full recovery of actual costs incurred.
- Design proactive reporting mechanisms to identify technical solutions that enhance financial management.
- Support the preparation for ISO compliance and certification.
- Ensure all technical billing and metering solutions are designed, implemented, and managed appropriately.
- In-depth understanding of existing, new, and emerging technologies.
- Strong technical experience across multiple delivery areas and vendors.
- Technical problem-solving skills that assist management in navigating complex negotiations.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of simplifying complex technical concepts, with strong persuasion skills to garner support for principles, standards, and changes.
- Excellent relationship-building, teamwork, and collaboration skills that facilitate effective support and guidance across programs.
- Proven track record in key outputs and related disciplines.
- Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge in analyzing accurate comparisons and reviews of various solution designs and developing realistic return on investment operational financial models.
- Degree or Diploma.
- Grade 12 is essential.
- Possessing a 3-year related qualification, such as a diploma or bachelor's degree, is advantageous (preference for an electrical qualification).
- A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in electrical or energy metering design and implementation of metering solutions, with hands-on experience in the design and maintenance of multi-tenant, combined metering systems.
