Customer Demand Manager Supply Chain

Johannesburg North-Gauteng

Our client is seeking a Customer Demand Manager in Johannesburg.

The primary responsibility of the role is to ensure the efficient and optimal supply of products by managing the end-to-end product demand.

The position collaborates with cross-functional commercial teams to ensure the effective implementation of Customer Risk Management strategies aligned with the divisions business objectives.

Your role will be to manage customer relationships, with a focus on building and maintaining strong connections. This includes developing and implementing strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty from a supply chain perspective. You'll also need to collaborate with marketing and sales teams to align CRM initiatives with business goals.


Establishing and nurturing robust relationships with customers DCs to optimise supply chain efficiency; vigilantly monitoring and analysing inventory performance; swiftly identifying variances and proactively suggesting adjustments as required; consistently generating comprehensive reports and presenting insightful findings to facilitate informed strategic decision-making.

Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to manage orders (NDD and NOD), coordinate shipments, and administer stock. Implement plans for efficient inventory management across customers.


As a Customer Demand Manager, it is of utmost importance to take charge of managing relationships both within and outside the company.

To ensure that the stock is available in the right regions, it is crucial to communicate directly with AI logistics, Sales, and Customer DC Managers.

The high-volume moving customer Distribution Centre (DC) locations and priority SKUs for specific regions must be given utmost importance while liaising with the managers.

What do you need to qualify for this role?

  • Minimum 5 years related experience including 3 years of Supply Chain Management experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain or related fields
  • FMCG background
  • Experience in Planning, Logistics, Customer Key Accounts or Customer Buyer would be advantageous
  • Experience within Modern Trade Distribution centres would be beneficial
