    Description

    Main Purpose: Ensure the Risk Support Department (RSD) discharges its responsibilities related to asset and liability management (ALM) risk management.

    The RSD team provides specialist knowledge, skills, and experience in ALM-related risk supervision and regulation for banking and insurance companies.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Review and evaluate insurance firms' ALM frameworks and reports to manage ALM-related risks.
    • Develop internal policies and processes for supervising ALM-related risks.
    • Ensure widespread understanding of ALM-related concepts and developments within the Prudential Authority (PA).
    • Provide expert guidance on compliance with minimum regulatory requirements for supervised institutions.
    • Develop analytical methods to analyze and interpret risk-based regulatory data submissions.
    • Conduct on- and off-site reviews of ALM-related risks for the insurance sector.
    • Identify ALM-related risks by processing, reviewing, and evaluating applications from supervised institutions.
    • Provide specialist support with respect to ALM-related risks within the PA.
    • Stay up-to-date with international best practices and developments surrounding ALM-related risks.
    • Inform the PA about the aggregate behavior of insurers regarding ALM-related risks.
    • Evaluate the own risk and solvency assessment (ORSA) process for capturing ALM-related risks.

    Requirements:

    • Postgraduate qualification in Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, or Auditing.
    • Five to eight years of applicable experience in the insurance or financial sector or within risk management.

    Desirable Qualifications:

    • Familiarity with the Basel frameworks and best practices in ALM risk management.
    • Knowledge of the Insurance Act.
    • Financial Risk Manager (FRM) or Professional Risk Manager (PRMIA) qualification.

    Additional Requirements:

    • Knowledge of the risks insurance companies face.
    • Ability to travel for on-site reviews and assessments.
    • Innovative analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Good verbal and written communication skills.
    • Good interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work in a team and contribute to team success.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 software packages.
