Production Manager - Standerton, South Africa - RPO Recruitment
Description
Responsibilities:
- Production Planning: Develop and implement production plans, schedules, and strategies to meet production goals and optimize resource utilization.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor production teams, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures and safety protocols.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor and maintain quality control measures throughout the production process to ensure products meet industry standards and specifications.
- Resource Management: Coordinate and allocate resources, including labor, equipment, and materials, to maximize productivity and minimize waste.
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels, track stock movements, and manage supply chain activities to maintain adequate inventory levels while minimizing overstock or shortages.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency enhancement, implementing innovative solutions and best practices.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and environmental regulations in all production activities.
- Reporting & Analysis: Prepare regular reports on production performance, analyze data, and present insights to senior management for decisionmaking purposes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, or related field. A relevant postgraduate qualification may be advantageous.
- 5 years of progressive experience in agricultural production management, with a proven track record of leadership and achievement.
- Strong understanding of agricultural production processes, crop cultivation, and/or livestock management.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal abilities to effectively manage and motivate diverse teams.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills to address production challenges and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive in a fastpaced environment, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing circumstances.
