Description
Reporting to the regional manager in Cape Town this is a sale's driven, sales focused role. Maintaining existing customers, sales growth and increasing the market share will be paramount to the success of this role. To represent the interests of John Crane at the customer, while also representing the customer's interests at John Crane.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for achieving the short, medium
- and long-term sales and orders objectives for sales area located in the Cape Town region.

  • To establish and maintain contracts across the region appropriately for the successful and profitable management of the region.
  • To establish strategic alliances with endusers, cultivating long term commitment and cooperation for mutual benefit and added value.
  • Responsible for implementing the business development plans for sales areas, sales areas in line with the company's strategic direction for the region.
  • Liaise with various technical departments to provide engineered solutions / advice to end users. Prospect for new accounts and establish new John Crane accounts.

The Individual

  • Minimum 510 years of proven experience in sales.
  • Any graduate in the relevant field of education.
  • Prior technical working experience in mechanical seals/rotating equipment, preferably from Oil & Gas/Mining/power plants.
  • Results driven, both individually and within team
  • Ability to work independently daily and be a strong "team player" within a sales/commercial team Experience in a distinctly customer serviceoriented business.
  • High levels of mental toughness and proven abilities to handle complex, fast moving and challenging commercial issues in a robust operating environment.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal & written is essential.
  • External Sales. Drive results through reaching sales targets.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office, Outlook.
