    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop a discipline strategy and design criteria to meet unique project/client requirements.
    • Implement project plans, regularly monitoring progress and updates to achieve timely deliverables.
    • Attend relevant project meetings and provide regular status reports.
    • Generate post-project feedback for continuous improvement.

    Design Requirements

    • Create cost-effective and safe civil/structural designs.
    • Produce tender and project civil/structural designs.
    • Evaluate alternatives and assess cost-effectiveness.
    • Establish quantity and man-hour budgets associated with scope.
    • Monitor changes to scope and their effects on budgets.
    • Verify the accuracy of civil/structural engineering software packages.

    Administrative Tasks

    • Maintain an effective record-keeping system for calculations, correspondence, and technical information.

    Client Interactions

    • Collaborate efficiently with the Drawing Office and other departments.
    • Ongoing review of internal circulation drawings and timely approval of final drawings for construction.

    Licensing and Compliance

    • Adhere to SGS specifications, guidelines, and statutory codes of practice.
    • Participate in quality assurance audits to ensure compliance.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent) and registration as a professional engineer or eligibility to register within 12 – 24 months.
    • 5 to 25 years' experience in the EPC/EPCM environment; ideally within the mining and minerals or petrochemical sector.
    • Knowledge of basic project management methods and all project life cycle phases.
    • Understanding of contract types and their main features.
    • Ability to create, understand, and communicate technical specifications.
    • Knowledge of engineering calculation techniques and quality methods.
