Our client is looking for a
RE Certified Underwriter - Short-term Insurance to join their team based in Pretoria, South Africa.


Qualifications and Experience:


  • Must hold RE certification and be qualified in shortterm insurance.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the shortterm insurance industry, with a proven track record in underwriting and broker duties.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with clients, brokers, and internal teams.
  • Strong analytical and decisionmaking skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain high standards of personal grooming and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Serve as a primary point of contact for brokers, managing relationships, and assisting with broker duties to facilitate the effective selling of insurance products.
  • Handle claims efficiently, ensuring a high level of accuracy and client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement underwriting policies and procedures that comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain uptodate knowledge of industry trends, products, and competitors to recommend enhancements to our product offerings.
  • Provide exceptional clientfacing service, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly to maintain and enhance client relationships.
  • Conduct risk assessments, policy terms negotiation, and pricing with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
