Minimum two days a week in the office with option to work flexibly for remaining days


Contract:
Fixed-term Contract (6 months)


Working hours: 07H00 TO 15H30

Role summary


The Learning Design team is responsible for developing and implementing innovative and effective online learning outcomes that reflects current best practice in this area.


This role will work with academic and technical employees to assist with the creation of online learning programs that comply with agreed quality standards, whilst also ensuring that the online design optimizes the student learning experience.


Key responsibilities:


  • With direction from the Lead Learning Designer and Learning Designers in the pod, assist with the design, development and implementation of effective and innovative online learning techniques and strategies to create a best practice online student experience within tight timeframes
  • Assist with the creation of learning experiences that are in line with OES's quality standards, OES's Pedagogy Principles and that are innovative, engaging, active and learnercentered
  • Collaborate with the broader learning design team around unit development scoping, deliverables and timeframes
  • Liaise with Digital Learning Specialists to assist with the creation of online learningcentred tools to deliver a best practice online student experience
  • Regularly evaluate and analyse online practices and delivery methods with respect to the achievement of student learning outcomes
  • Contribute to a professional culture and working environment that is based on the premise that happy and engaged people are essential to the success of the business
  • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting to the internal teaching team once units of study are being delivered to students.

Requirements:


Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Learning Design
Essential

  • Some knowledge of learning design pertaining to an online learning environment
Desirable

  • Some experience in the conversion of classroombased learning content to an online learning environment

Qualifications
Essential

  • An undergraduate degree and/or post graduate qualification
Desirable

  • Some understanding of the tertiary teaching environment where contemporary approaches to learnercentred, flexible education was apparent

Technology
Essential

  • Some understanding of online technologies and Learning Management systems including, Canvas, Moodle and editing and design software
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft suite (Word, Excel) and Adobe
Desirable

  • Demonstrated experience in innovative design and delivery methods and tools for online teaching
  • Some experience using basic coding such as HTML

Pedagogy
Essential

  • An understanding of adult learning principles

Communication, Teamwork and Project Management
Essential

  • Some experience in managing key project timeframes and quality
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Proven ability to work proactively as part of a team
