This role focuses on ensuring the 3D modelling of the furniture allocations to each store is completed.

This is accomplished utilizing design software such as AutoCAD (for furniture layouts, shop fitting detailing etc) and SketchUp (for placement of 3D furniture models within store models).

This role is based at our Head Office in Greenpoint and reports to the Visual Merchandising Spatial Planner.


Main responsibilities:


  • Drafting new and existing furniture used for the furniture layouts and building up the Weylandts furniture CAD library.
  • Technical assistance (2D & 3D) to Stylist & Homeware Visual Merchandiser
  • Ensure 3D furniture library remains up to date with any new furniture that is launched.
  • Update store 3D SketchUp models
  • Populate all stores SketchUp models with the relevant furniture for all settings, in preparation for Revamp.
  • Modelling up of homeware components (lighting, vases, carpets etc).
  • Draughting and updating floor plans with furniture legends to issue to all stores
  • Floor plans need to reflect various Homeware product ranges allocated.

Technical experience:


  • A diploma in Interior Design
  • 12 years relevant experience in the interior field is required
  • Excellent technical knowledge of design software, specifically AutoCAD and SketchUp
  • Advantageous to have retail design experience
  • Comprehensive Microsoft office skills are required
  • A valid driver's license and own transport

  • This department requires a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Must be able to advise team on fixing details in the design of installations etc.
  • Demonstrate positive hands on, cando attitude.
  • Able to work independently yet be a team player.
  • Must be positive, energetic, a selfstarter with excellent problem solving and decisionmaking skills.
  • Being able to work well under pressure/fastpaced environment, receive constructive feedback and produce high quality work is a prerequisite.
