Role Overview:


We are looking for a SHEQ Manager to provide specialist support and knowledge on all Safety, Health, Environment and Quality matters, to management, supervisors and employees, completing risk assessment, behaviour based observations (safety and quality), accident reporting, auditing and training.

Maintain, review and continually improve the SHEQ systems, policies and procedures in line with local legislation and the Greif safety and Quality (ISO 9001:2015) and FSSC 22000 standards at all facilitates within South Africa along with the 2 SHEQ Officers.


Typical Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for Occupational Health and Safety (OHSA). To comply with the regulations and standards of Occupational Health and Safety act.
  • To ensure that the legal requirements in respect of injuries or incidents are complied with, and reported and investigated correctly.
  • To maintain a fully functional quality system that complies with the SABS audit requirements. (ISO 9001:2015 and FSSC
  • To ensure the necessary UN test requirements are met at both South African plants.
  • To ensure that all the audit processes and procedures regarding SHE and Quality compliance including Greif global and local are met.
  • Retain a compliance of a minimum of 90% to the external safety audit carried out by EMEA appointed auditors.
  • Ensure all customer complaints are logged, investigated and closed out with all key roleplayers within the allocated timelines.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Matric (Grade 12) or recognized equivalent qualification
  • Advanced Health and Safety diploma through NOSA or similar organization
  • Not Neg.
  • A Quality assurance national diploma or equivalent qualification
  • Not Neg.

EXPERIENCE

  • 8 years working experience in Quality and health and safety in a manufacturing environment as a Section 16(2) appointee or similar with a leadership role in quality control working with SABS 9001/2015 or TS 169 and FSSC this is not neg.
  • 5 years management experience in Quality and health and safety and leading a team.
  • Computer Literacy 8 years' experience working with MS Office (Word, Excel, PP, MS Project)
